I think mine tonight took the cake. Through and through, he was a complete asshole.
So first off, he's the main healer for a (level 30 party) NIN, NIN, BLU/NIN, BLU/NIN, BST/NIN party... and he subs BLM. Against spiders. Because that's freaking brilliant. If you're main healing, and the enemies you're fighting have a 6 hp/tick poison move that they love to spam, why bother with poisona? When we asked him about it, he told us it was our problem and we should have brought antidotes.
It gets better. His equipment was pretty good, if you were somehow able to overlook the fact he was wearing the hume M swimsuit gear, and consequently, no hand or feet equipment. His excuse was "well I have a DEF:18 tunic but there's no point in wearing it." Yeah, granted, our body pieces suck, but you have some NICE gloves and boots you can wear, asshole. And that DEF:18 (plus DEF from gloves and boots) probably would have saved some more pain since he had no idea how to play his job, and spammed Cure III when he wasn't busy nuking for 22 damage.
During this whole time, his attitude absolutely sucked ass. I made a comment about him showing up to go swimming, and he chose to retaliate by remarking about how much my accuracy sucked ass... against an IT+++ beetle. With A+ sword skill... and merits. And sushi. And +23 DEX.
Strike three. The fucktard ended up leaving without a word to the party, didn't even bother to replace himself. Just waited until I was 180 tnl and then casually logged out.
Stay away from Darkhunter. Avoid him like the plague.

I had a noob rdm last night who subbed /nin.. and had neither dispel or utsusemi. I scolded him.. he said he was a 'poor rdm'.. next day I see him lfp again instead of farming like.. he should be for money for dispel.. and better gear. >.<

By the way, don't go in without gear on.. the time it takes you to rest that MP back is JUST not worth it since he continues to buff. Not smart. Go in with full gear.
(to clarify, I mean for RDM Maat, I don't think it matters much with whm)

It's cheap. Accounting for inflation, it was worth about 150-200k back when I first got it... and I was so broke, I got it as a present from Vihem and my linkshell...

AH price is ~80-90k, that's up. It was averaging like 20k on the AH over the last time I did BCNMs...
That's still cheap. >.>

So, first of all my thanks to those who contributed to this thread-- my victory over Maat would not have been possible without all the great advice contained within-- and to Locke, Tibent, Uly and Ozz for helping me farm up my testimonies. Next, here's something I didn't realize until after the fact and found rather funny (sorry, I don't have windower so a digital camera pic will have to do): Ol' Maat counted me down and out but Chainspell prevailed! ...With one second left on the clock. Guess I'm one of those RDMs who looks at himself in the mirror too much, eh? My fight was pretty textbook, sleep and nuke, bind, etc., except that Gravity didn't stick ONCE. Kind of freaked me out a bit, but by keeping up Blink (and Stoneskin when I needed to rest up some MP and was Diagaed/Poisoned) and plugging away at the ol' dirty bastard I was able to prevail even though Asuran Fists knocked me down to 66 hp. 1/2 on Maat fight. ;D
