I may cancel my content IDs later this evening. I am NOT going to delete my character (not even an option) or dump any of my gear. I would probably renew end of March to reactivate instead of having to wait for "Return to Vana'diel" which I think is in May.
Due to some fucking idiots in China, who decided to let me know this morning that they've been having server issues for a week, I'm busy with work stuff right now, so I don't have much time to post.
In all honesty, it'd be harder to walk away if the LS was strong. But the true bottom line, which is easier for me to see right now, is I need to stop focusing on video games and grow the fuck up. I have some personal goals I need to work on the first few months of this year, and that's just not going to happen with FFXI in my life.
My advice, Tempus: you're not quitting the game because it is negatively effecting your life, so don't delete. Cancel your ID's, keep your stuff, and give WoW a shot, come back in a few months. Or quit MMO's altogether for awhile, clear your mind and focus on potential career options. Contrary to what you "pretend" to believe, you have a lot of options in the palm of your hand. You just have to want to move from A to B enough to get past the anxiety that is preventing you from taking the steps to do so. Maybe losing FFXI for awhile could be the dose of reality you need to move forward. That is unless you're perfectly fine with the status quo.
