Do you mind some constructive criticism? The choice of backdrops are nice, but the color balance makes the characters pop out. I LOVE the job you ddi on your sig; perfect choice of backdrop and excellent job merging them. It looks incredible.

I like that one. Good choice of photo, again. Do you know how to add blending and layer properties? It can artificially add depth to your work and mesh elements together, plus it's really easy to use. Try right-clicking a layer and toying around with it a bit. ^^

There is some glaze on Kaifu's armor! I like the pic, and it's cute. Nice job overall, but.. what code said.

Looking at the first to the last, there's definitely a lot of progress made toward making the images blend in with the background.

Color and lighting are two of the biggest adjustments that you can make, and are relatively easy through selective color balancing. Foreground/Background clarity is a little more difficult...
When your vision focuses on something naturally, surrounding elements in your peripheral vision become blurred, or rather, out of focus. A lot of professional editors spend hours retouching the focus in their shots to enhance the realism; simple blurs using the lasso+feather tool can go a long way (take a look at Tarick's avatar for a good example of this specific techniquei.)
Best thing you can do to improve is immerse yourself in it and just learn as you go.
