Time is a constant, never changing speed or direction
the perception of time however, does change
i figured id pop in and see how everything has turned out over this amount of time ive been away
i see alot of ppl have left, or are leaving
makes me sad, kinda
i left for reasons that are hard to explain in words, considering some ppl will only read and see what they want based on their own conclusions
to put it short, i left, not because the game wasnt fun anymore, and not because of endgame drama, but because of the effects of the real world on my game play
since i left, around august of 06....
i drove concrete mixer, and anyone who keeps up with the times, feds raised interest rates, and housing crashed nationwide
no more homes being built, no more ppl moving in, no more schools needed, no more commercial buildings, no more roads, no more growth. in my business i went from 40-60 hrs a week to 10-30 hrs a week. so a huge paycut at $21/hr
i played FFXI more, and SE had implemented their RMT/hack elite squad
after a few months of this, the effect was like a viral infection in the body
SE banned accts/ips and caught wind that some MMOs were submitting to Ebay to take all their merchandise off the boards
something like 30k accts banned,billions in gil removed
the effect of this in-game was alliances of newage gillies invading ALL the xp spots and wiping everything with severly underlvld gear and no skill, it became to old puller wars on the weekend xp sessions of old, only worse
no to mention the tag wars of sky and the like except 100 fold from what ive heard
SE bans accts, gillies make 100 more
the AH prices became stupid too, gillies had to change their tactics
i bought my SH+1 for 3.5 mil, was lvling thf because as war, my money making went to shit courtesy of the "gillie market"
then, 1 by 1 my farming spots became overrun by gillies and others who have had to change the way they made money
the game became annoying
talking with Photon about this, he has a different outlook on it all, and he is able to roll it off his shoulder
partly because he isnt a 75 and at endgame yet(my opinion)
Bravura i wanted because it was the best, pho didnt care about being the best
i want all +1, uber elite gear to be the best i can be
he can be perfectly happy with the normal gear
that is the difference between us
i played and tried to further myself in order to gain the top-of-the-line gear/abilities so i could be the best at what i did
and the outworldy effects,RMT...time...means to an end, made me lose interest in the whole thing
i logged in as i usually did one day, checked AH for what sold
the last of my options was destroyed for making money
as a 65 thf, my farming spots were destroyed also
so once again i was faced with having to completely changing the way i made money
the money i would need to be at my best while xpin(squid and sole), red curry(major bosses,gods), sleep pots for those battles
pho and i discussed how i didnt "need" those things to "do it"
yea he was right, i didnt"need" those things, but i "wanted" them to be the best that i could be during these events/sessions.
i didnt log on for a long while, about 3 months or so, i guess SE will auto-cancel ur acct if u dont long on after a time, so i was talking to pho, and he was relaying the AH prices to me on the phone
i was about done with the whole thing when we talked
i decided to let my acct/char, that ive had for close to 3 years dissappear into oblivion
the "Fun" was gone...
it became a war between legit and non-legit, honorable and dishonorable
i was tired of fighting the war
i couldnt do the things i wanted to do, to stave of the gillie uprising, because SE would have banned my acct for it, as much as we all have wanted to do it
so ive moved on
i now live in Connecticut, with my GF, her 16 yr old son, and our 7 yr old twins
spent quite a long time on Diablo 2:lord of destruction, fun game
been here for a while and everything is going alot better then i had expected, this my first time of state to state relocation since the army, army was easier lol
i guess what im trying to say is...
i miss the LS, and all the adventures we had
the triumphs, the wipes(lmao)...sometimes dieing was never so much fun
the comradery
never in my FFXI time had i ever been with a more honorable,skilled, and sarcastic group
even tho i wasnt with EO for very long, it made a lasting impression on me, one that i will never forget
its a time that will be with me always, and will inspire me in other avenues(D@D campains ;p)

i played with determination and honor, same way i go through life
im pleased to have known the lot of u all
and accomplished many great things
but time has a way of changing ppl, in the aspect of your outlook on any number of things
and mine had changed to be one of a more real-life focus
3 kids is a big job, everyone knows that
i dont play anything much anymore, and im happy with it
